Description

Telescope Skywatcher BK 607AZ2

A small achromatic refractor with an objective lens diameter of 60 mm and a focal length of 700 mm. It is well suited as a simple telescope for beginners and allows observation of the moon, sun (with the appropriate solar filter), planets, bright star clusters, galaxies or even bright nebulae. Due to its light weight, size and ease of use, it is recommended as the first telescope for children.

The telescope is equipped with a simple AZ2 azimuthal mount with micromovements, which allows smooth and intuitive tracking of the selected object. In addition, the set includes a 90 ° erecting mirror and the so-called erecting lens, which allows you to get a simple "earth" image - thanks to this, the telescope will also be well suited for daytime observations. The set includes two lenses with a focal length of 10mm and 20mm, which provide a magnification of 70x and 35x respectively.

Once the telescope has been fitted with a 45° erecting mirror, it can be used as an observation telescope with good results.

Observation possibilities

Solar system

- Sun: visible spots and grain (observations only with the objective filter)
- Mercury: visible phase of the planet under favourable conditions
- Venus: visible phase
- Moon: Visible surface details larger than 4 km, mountains, craters and seas
- Mars: A slight polar cap may be visible at opposition
- Jupiter: two stripes on the surface of the planet, changes in the position of the Galilean moons
- Saturn: the planet's ring is visible and the brightest moon, Titan
- Uranus: shown as a star
- Neptune: shown as a star

The stars
- Separation of systems with a distance of over 2.2″
- Stars with a brightness of at least 11.4

Deep Sky Objects
- Open star clusters from the Messier catalogue
- Globular clusters appear as bright spots
- Nebulae that are visible at low magnification
- Galaxies that are visible as cloudy spots

Due to its low luminosity, the telescope is particularly recommended for observing the solar system.
