It features a ribbed front that allows you to rest the rifle against a table or wall, and because it is ribbed, it prevents any slippage during recoil. Another unique feature is the Cobra "hood". It acts like a heat shield that prevents the heat from reaching the hands and provides an ergonomic platform for the guide hand to utilise. The rear part of the Cobra handle can act as a hand stop.

One advantage that the SI Cobra Grip has over its competitors is the friction lock design. The material has been removed in the centre so that it engages with the rail system when the main screw is tightened, preventing wobbling due to inaccuracy of fit or overstressing of the grip.
