Description

Hop-up rubber for GBB / VSR-10 pistols

The hop-up rubber is made from high-quality aircraft rubber so that it retains its properties even with higher-performance replicas and at low temperatures. The new rubber has an improved design for improved impermeability. The rubber is characterised by increased tear and abrasion resistance. It fits perfectly for VSR-10, TM Hi-CAPA, M 1911A 1, SIG P226, SOCOM MK23 and Glock 26 series Replicas.

What is a hop-up system?

Hop-up is a system that turns up the bullets fired by ASG replicas. It utilises the Magnus effect to flatten the trajectory of the flying bullet, bringing it closer to the trajectory of a real firearm bullet.

In practice, it is a suitably moulded rubber or silicone seal that gives the accelerated ball a twisting motion on contact. The simplest explanation of how the hop-up system works is that a ball that is under-rotated on one side creates more friction against the air, allowing it to twist. When the twist occurs in the horizontal axis, the ball rotates upwards, balancing out the force of gravity.

The force with which the hop-up rubber band is pressed against the ball determines how much the ball is twisted and therefore the strength of the lift. The heavier the ball, the tighter the pressure of the rubber band must be (as a heavy ball has more inertia and falls down faster). This also applies the other way round - if a light ball is twisted too much, it can fly over the line of fire.
