The EN166 standard applies to all types of personal eye protection for protection against the various hazards that can occur in industry, laboratories, school buildings, DIY, etc., where damage to the eye or impairment of vision is possible, with the exception of radiation of nuclear origin, X-rays, laser emissions and infrared (IR) radiation emitted by low-temperature sources. The provisions of this standard do not apply to eye protection for which there are separate and complete standards, such as laser eye protection, sunglasses for general use, etc., provided that these standards refer to this standard. Eye protectors fitted with corrective lenses are not excluded. The tolerances for focussability and other characteristics associated with corrective measures are specified in ISO/DIS8980-1 and ISO/DIS8980-2.

The above product is of the highest quality and has been subjected to resistance tests in accordance with its resistance class. The manufacturer guarantees the impact resistance against solid objects according to the resistance class or the certificates received. Nevertheless, the use of this protection does not exclude the possibility of injury if the product does not fit properly, e.g. from a ball falling under the protective glass as a result of a ricochet. It is therefore recommended to adjust the eye protection to the individual needs of the user before use. The protective properties of the product can also be impaired by improper use and maintenance of the product, e.g. by cleaning the lenses with unsuitable agents. The seller is not liable for injuries caused by improper adjustment and use of the above-mentioned product.
