The SCAR, for Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle, is a family of automatic assault rifles developed by Belgian manufacturer FN HERSTAL.

The goal of the SCAR is to meet the United States Special Operations Command's (US SOCOM) need for versatility by offering one weapon in different calibres while ensuring the same handling.

The SCAR family is therefore available in SCAR-L (Light) and SCAR-H (Heavy) with cartridges in calibres 5.56 × 45 mm NATO and 7.62 × 51 mm NATO respectively, which in turn will give rise to other variants such as the SCAR-H PR for precision rifles for long-range shooting.

The SCAR-L replica is a 6 mm AEG assault rifle developed in cooperation with the Vega Force Company.

It features a nylon fibre body in combination with aluminium elements such as the barrel or the sight. Everything is rounded off by the official markings of the FN HERSTAL licence on the upper case of the replica, which can be perfectly combined with the black and FDE colours on offer.

The replica develops a power of 1.4 joules at the exit of the 380 mm gun in the standard version.

In 1889, Belgium introduced the latest Mauser rifle to modernise its army. The National War Weapons Factory was founded to produce the 150,000 pieces needed.
