Description

G&G Hop-Up Rubber

The Hop-Up rubber is made of silicon, thanks to which it retains its properties even at low temperatures, as it does not stiffen as in the case of normal rubber. It works perfectly both in normal conditions and in sub-zero temperatures - it retains its properties even at temperatures as low as 40 degrees below zero.

The hop-up rubber is set to work in a system equipped with a main spring up to the characteristic of M140 (inclusive).

What is the Hop-Up system?

The hop-up system is a system that gives the airgun pellet fired by airsoft replicas a spinning motion. It uses the Magnus effect to flatten the trajectory of a flying bullet, making it look similar to the trajectory of a real firearm bullet.

In reality, it is a properly moulded rubber or silicone seal that creates rotation when it comes into contact with a shotgun pellet. The simplest way to explain the hop-up system is to say that an airgun pellet being turned from one side creates more friction in the air, allowing it to spin. When the rotation takes place in the horizontal axis, the airgun pellet rotates upwards and compensates for the gravitational force.

The strength with which the hop-up rubber touches the ball determines how much it rotates and thus rises. The heavier the airgun pellet is, the greater the pressure of the hop-up rubber must be (while the heavier airgun pellet has greater inertia and falls down faster). It also works the other way round - if a light BB pellet is spun too much, it can go over the firing line.
