Description

Designed and manufactured by G&G, the GMG42 is a high quality replica of the most famous and influential machine gun ever produced.
Developed in 1942 as the successor to the MG 34, the MG 42 was lighter, less complicated, easier to operate and had an overwhelming rate of fire. The MG 42 was equipped with a quick-change barrel system and enlarged manipulators to make it easier to use in winter. Along with the gun, a range of additional equipment was also developed - bipods, tripods, anti-aircraft mounts and a plethora of ammunition containers and boxes. Original production ceased at the end of the Second World War, but it is still in production worldwide in modified versions such as the German MG3 and the Austrian MG 74. It also served as the basis for other models - M60, AA-52, MG 51 and FN MAG.
This 1230mm long monster of a replica is fed by a detachable drum magazine with a capacity of 1700 rounds. It weighs around 10200g and only shoots in fully automatic mode.
The replica is mainly made of steel with a small admixture of polymers, aluminium and wood. The only parts that are not made of steel are the wooden stock, the plastic pistol grip and the bullet catcher as well as the outer barrel made of aluminium. Everything else, such as the receiver, the barrel jacket, the bipod, the manipulators and the sights, is made of steel. Like the original weapon, the GMG42 is also equipped with a quick-change barrel system that allows the weapon to be dismantled almost immediately. The folding bipod can be mounted in two places on the barrel jacket or removed completely.
The custom gearbox is CNC machined from a single block of aluminium. It can be accessed along with the hop-up chamber by opening the top cover and sling feed compartment for maintenance or upgrades. The rifle is supplied with a standard 50-round "belt-fed" drum magazine with a capacity of 1700 rounds and an additional 50-round ammunition belt without disassembly.
