The T.O.R.D. Hardshell Hoody LW is a lightweight and very versatile rain and multi-purpose jacket made from a waterproof and breathable 3-layer laminate with membrane and taped seams. The jacket has a number of small details that make it the ideal companion for a very wide range of uses.

The T.O.R.D. Hardshell Hoody LW from Outrider Tactical was designed as a classic 3-layer lightweight hardshell jacket and can be used very universally in this role, both as a lightweight standalone solution and in combination with other layers of clothing. The jacket is part of the Outrider Tactical layering principle and can be ideally combined with the T.O.R.D. Windblock Fleece Jacket AR in cold weather.

When selecting the material, particular attention was paid to using a fabric that is waterproof and robust, but not typically stiff. Attention was also paid to ensuring that the fabric is as quiet as possible. The seams are sealed with waterproof tape, as is usual for a waterproof jacket. To keep the inside visually in the background, light-coloured materials were avoided and a dark grey/black colour was chosen.

The waist can be adjusted to the left and right of the hips using the hem drawcord to create a close fit on the body or, if desired, to support the chimney effect. The pockets are sized so that they make ideal use of the space available at the front to accommodate large items. For quick access to smaller items, the jacket also has a classic upper arm pocket on both sleeves, which can also be used to store a smartphone.

When designing the jacket, special attention was paid to ensuring that when using a plate carrier or chest rig, access to the side pockets is guaranteed and the zips are not under the plate. This minimises annoying pressure points.

The sleeve construction is designed to maximise the user's freedom of movement. There are no seams on the shoulder. The sleeves are also equipped with Velcro surfaces on the upper arm for attaching morale and ID patches.

The waterproof main zip is a very high quality two-way zip from SBS. There is a protective strip behind it to prevent irritation at the neck and pinching of the beard. The cuffs are adjustable and can be adapted to the size of the wrist and gloves.

The jacket is longer at the back to prevent the back area from being exposed when kneeling or bending down. The inside pocket has a headphone output for professional personnel who still work with wired headsets. The pocket can hold standard power banks or smartphones as well as ID documents. To enable better organisation inside, there are several loops for storing pens and other small items.

The zip pullers ensure a good grip even in wet and poor conditions, even when gloves are worn. When designing the hood, attention was paid to a body-hugging shape without restricting the freedom of movement. The shape of the hood can be adjusted using two drawstrings at the front and one at the back of the hood.
