Lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) batteries are the successor to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) batteries. The fundamental advantage of LiPo is undoubtedly the ratio of capacity to size. The packs are very small and at the same time have a very high electrical efficiency, which makes it possible to select a suitable pack for practically any AEG replica. They do not have a memory effect. Can be recharged very often without needing to be fully discharged. Frequent charging is an advantage for any type of battery.

It is important to remember not to discharge a LiPo battery to a value of less than 3 V per cell and not to overcharge above 4.2 V per cell.
