zComtac II (Version 6.0) Headset

Replica of a zComtac II headsets. The set has two microphones (one on each earcup) that pick up and amplify external sounds. The user can adjust the volume according to personal preference. Adjusting the volume of the radio and the headset makes it possible to equalise both volumes so that both radio traffic and sounds from the surroundings can be heard. It is even possible to set the headset to amplify the sounds from the surroundings to improve hearing perception or to mute them completely if they make it difficult to hear the radio traffic or disturb concentration.

In addition, the volume of all hearing-impairing noises is reduced to a level that is safe for the human ear. As soon as the harmful noises stop, the headset settings are reset to normal values. The set has an adjustable, leatherette-covered arm that allows it to be customised to each user's head. The microphone is attached to an elasticated arm. Power is supplied by two AA batteries. To complete the set, it is necessary to combine it with a PTT module and a radio.
