Brand
In 1889, Belgium introduced the latest Mauser rifle to modernise its army. The National War Weapons Factory was founded to produce the 150,000 pieces needed.
The group was quickly given the name of the town where its factories were located: FN Herstal.
In the 20th century, the FNH was famous for its collaboration with the American engineer John Moses Browning, but also for the work of the Belgian Dieudonné Saive, both creators of some of the most important weapons in history.
For 130 years, innovation, excellence and know-how have been the watchwords of the Herstal Group, which designs, develops and manufactures a complete range of innovative state-of-the-art weapons that we find today in the defence, security and defence civilian sectors.
