GF85 is a replica from G&G that belongs to a thematic series of replicas of armour from various countries in Europe and the world. New models are constantly being added to this collection. In this case, it is an airsoft version of an assault carbine that has been part of the armament of the army of one of the Scandinavian countries for many years.

The replica is almost 100% made of metal, only the front grip and the pistol grip are made of plastic. These are coloured green, as are the barrel and the frame butt. It is folded to the right side; the designers have taken care to ensure that the replica can be easily operated and fired with the butt folded in. On the left side there is a firing mode selector with a safety, while a magazine release is located on the right side. The arrangement of these elements is similar to that of the M4/M16 series carbines. Pulling back the reloading handle gives access to the adjustable hop-up chamber, the sights consist of a 2-position sabre and an adjustable musket.

Thanks to the good fit of the parts, many metal parts and the perfectly maintained weight of the original (almost 4kg without magazine), the replica makes an extremely solid impression. There is no play whatsoever, not even on the stock hinge or in the front grip, which is sometimes a problem with many designs. Equipped with a long, 443 mm inner barrel, it enables effective use at longer distances, for example in wooded areas.

The rifle features a specially modified and reinforced 8mm stock-based v2 gearbox with a factory-installed M120 spring that enables a trigger speed of ~420 fps right out of the box.

One of the most remarkable features of the GF85 is the fact that the replica is operated with magazines modelled on the STANAG standard as used in M4/M16 replicas. This makes access to spare magazines more than easy.

The kit does not contain a battery or charger.
