Lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) batteries are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) batteries. The fundamental advantage of LiPo is undoubtedly the ratio of capacity to size. The batteries are very small and at the same time have a very high electrical efficiency, which makes it possible to select a suitable battery for practically any AEG replica. They have no memory effect. They can be recharged very frequently without having to be fully discharged. Frequent charging is an advantage for every battery type.

It is important not to discharge a LiPo pack below 3 V per cell and not to charge it above 4.2 V per cell. Another advantage of LiPo batteries is their low self-discharge. An unused battery loses about 3 - 5 % of its energy per month.
