It creates a kind of Air cushion which minimises contact between a BB and the sides of the barrel. In addition, the same serrations found at the front of the barrel are also found at the end, which further stabilises the trajectory of a BB by dissipating excess air (Air Relief Divergence system).

As if that wasn't enough, the barrel has a special antistatic coating (Electroless Coating) which reduces the electrical static of the barrel when firing. This reduces the contact of a BB with internal elements after insertion into the chamber to a reduced to an absolute minimum.
