Trident SPR was developed to optimise the Ideal scout rifle for use in the field. The 14.5″ barrel and the 13″ free-floating DEFIANCE keymod Handguards offer the user numerous customisation options. The aluminium housings have an embossed KRYTAC logo and a matt black finish. Other features include a two-handed fire selector and a Locking boltwhich enables easy access to the KRYTAC rotation hop-up system. The KRYTAC rotary hop-up has 15 setting options and a numbered dial that allows you to quickly determine how much hop is required. At the rear of the SPR is the KRYTAC adjustable battery stemwhich offers two different battery configurations: Nunchuck batteries can be inserted into the tubes or a small lithium polymer brick battery can be inserted at the rear of the shaft in front of the buttpad. A third battery option for the Trident CRB is a stick battery in the buffer tube. The stock also has two QD sling swivel mounts and a loop for sling swivel attachments.

Internally, the Trident SPR has a reinforced 8mm ball bearing gearbox with integrated MOSFET to regulate the electronic signals and protect the trigger contacts. The corners of the gearbox surrounding the cylinder have a smooth radius as opposed to a 90° angle, to avoid breakages. The gearbox housing also has a small window on the left sideThis window is also useful for checking the pressure angle when the gearbox is fully assembled. Other features of the gearbox include a Modular spring guide systemwhich allows the spring to be replaced without having to completely dismantle the gearbox. The KRYTAC piston is made from a durable, lightweight polymer manufactured and has 4 metal teethwith the 2nd to last tooth missing. The cylinder head is fitted with a enlarged rubber buffer padded to optimise the pressure angle and absorb the energy of the impact of the piston assembly. The material for the gears has been specially developed to achieve high strength. The Rockwell test values of KRYTAC gears are well above industry standards. All components of the drivetrain are manufactured by a KRYTAC motor with high torque which reaches 30,000 revolutions per minute unloaded.

The Trident SPR is designed for use over medium to long distances.
